Dwight Tharp is the creator of an original Origami Yoda. He an awkward kid in the sixth grade at McQuarrie Middle School. Everyone thinks that Dwight is clueless and not smart, which seems true for the most part. For example, he enjoys eating hamburgers with a straw and sometimes will clean food spills by wiping up the floor with his stomach. At the school's previous Fun Nights, he could not attract any of the girls to dance with him! When he brings Origami Yoda to school, however, he starts giving everyone good advice, and everyone listens to his suggestions except Dwight himself. Is it Yoda giving the advice? Or is Dwight really tapping into the Force? Nobody knows, but Dwight's friends are determined to find out!

Tommy is Dwight's best friend at McQuarrie Middle School. He was the first one to believe that Origami Yoda was tapping into The Force and he was dedicated to finding out if Origami Yoda is legitimate. Tommy is also in sixth grade and tries to solve this case about Origami Yoda, real or fake? He has his suspicions about Origami Yoda, but the awesome advice it gives makes him a believer!
Harvey Cunningham

Harvey is the main antagonist of this story. He does not believe in Origami Yoda (or Paperwad Yoda, as he calls it) and is tired of Origami Yoda giving advice, mostly because it is coming from Dwight, whom he thinks is a goof. To be defiant, Harvey constructs his own Origami Yoda copying other people's downloadable instructions. Unfortunately, despite his rather accurate impression of Yoda, his advice is unhelpful to anyone. Will there be a duel of the Yoda's to show who has the better origami?
