Introduction
The Strange Case of Origami Yoda, by Tom Angleberger, is a hilarious case file researched by eleven-year-old Tommy who is desperate to figure out whether a finger puppet is real or not. Each file shares a story from a fellow classmate's perspective on the situation. This case file is about a sixth-grader named Dwight, who is very unusual but interesting. For example, Dwight sometimes responds to people by saying, "Purple." One day he brings an origami Yoda to school and says that it gives helpful advice! Dwight is given a lot of attention that he normally does not receive from his schoolmates. Tommy, Dwight's best friend, creates a case file on how Yoda gives such good advice when Dwight himself is so clueless.
